Megan Dowding, DirectorWelcome to St. Philips ECC homepage! We are delighted to share information regarding our childcare program as well as our preschool curriculum. We have been serving the St Louis area for more than 40 years.
St. Philips is a non-profit, faith based center that offers full day childcare for ages 6 weeks through 6 years. In addition to our state-licensed daycare, we include our Preschool classes as a pull-out program from our childcare. We provide breakfast, lunch and 2 snacks per day at no additional charge. We also have extracurricular classes in the afternoons that include Science Seekers, Creative Corner, Martial Arts and Music & Movement. We aim to keep our program balanced between educationally structured time and plenty of large motor free play for our children.
We have a wonderful staff of teachers with experience ranging from 1 to 20+ years. We offer an excellent Kindergarten readiness program with our 3 and 4 year old preschool classes. Our teachers are required to complete 12 hours of professional development per year to stay up-to-date on the latest advances in education. We have teacher-child ratios ranging from 1:4 in our infant room to 1:10 in our 4 year old daycare class.
We provide opportunities in all areas of early childhood development and anticipate your interest and participation in your child's progress through the years. Our state licensed programs offer experiences in learning and living that supplement what the home and family provide. We offer a warm, nurturing atmosphere which provides opportunities for each child to grow socially, emotionally, academically, physically, spiritually, and developmentally at his/her own pace.
