St. Philip's offers a high quality preschool for children in the community. We are proud of our low child-to-teacher ratio and the safe nurturing environment we provide. Our program is teacher directed, yet provides many opportunities for children to make choices and have fun at school.
We view preschool as a kindergarten readiness program where we provide opportunities for social, emotional, academic, spiritual and developmental growth in a non-threatening atmosphere. Children are allowed "time to be kids"!
We offer classes for children who turn 3 or 4 years old before August 1.
Our preschool teachers are degreed teachers who work with experienced classroom aides.
The curriculum is presented and taught in a variety of ways. Skills include cognitive, motor, creative arts and social/emotional skills in addition to hands-on science & nature, arts & crafts, and bible time.
The Teacher/Student ratio is 1:5 for 3 year olds - 2 half days - 10 students per class. The Teacher/Student ratio is 1:8 for 4 year olds - 2 or 3 half days - 16 students per class.
Preschool 3/4 Year Olds
Class days and times are:
Monday - Wednesday
9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
Monday - Wednesday
1:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Tuesday - Thursday
9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
Curriculum for the 3/4 year olds focuses on:
- Small motor development
- Art appreciation
- Music appreciation
- Cognitive Skills - colors, shapes, numbers, alphabet, etc.
- Social/Emotional Growth - assist the child to learn age appropriate behaviors
- Spiritual Growth - Bible stories, songs, verses and prayer
Our 3/4 year olds are taught by Becky Brockelsby.
Mrs. Brockelsby's Classroom Aide is Linda Braaf.

Curriculum for the 4/5 year olds focuses on kindergarten readiness skills presented and taught in a variety of ways. These skills include:
Cognitive - language development
Cognitive - math/science development
Physical - fine motor skills
Physical - gross motor skills
Creative Arts - songs, poems, creative movement, creative expression
Social/Emotional Skills - respect for others, conflict resolution, peer pressure
Spiritual Growth - Bible stories, songs, verses and prayer
Our 4/5 year olds are taught by Mrs. Kammerer. Mrs Kammerer's Classroom Aide is Jeanette Carbone.
