January 2018

Dear Parents,

Another year has passed and I look forward to starting 2018 with the team I have in place. I would like to thank all of the families for your support in our program and the staff for their continued dedication to St. Philip’s ECC.

2017 expense reports will be dispersed the first week of January for your taxes. They will be mailed to the address which was provided. If you have a balance from 2017, December invoices were emailed this week. Please pay this balance by December 29, 2017, to avoid any late fees.

Reminder: please make sure your child has an appropriate change of clothing here at the center! We want to make sure the children have winter clothing to put on in case of an accident. Also, please make sure your child has a winter coat, hat, and gloves on. We take the children outside at twenty degrees and above for ten- to fifteen-minute increments.

Beginning January 2, 2018, the center will be digital. All classrooms will be equipped with Kindle Fires and have the app HiMama. This childcare app provides software services such as attendance records and daily reports. If you fail to sign your child in each day, you will not receive a daily report (infant, toddlers, and twos). All communication with your lead teachers will still be accessible through their email addresses. I suggest you take a look at the app between now and then and familiarize yourself with it. We are very excited about this service and hope you are too!

We would all like to thank you for trusting St. Philip’s ECC with your children and letting us be a part of your child’s lives. Here is to another great year!

Thank you,

Megan Dowding
Executive Director

Happy New Year, everyone! Hope it will be a great 2018 for all. Well, we have to say bye to Oliver; he is moving to the Elephants. We will miss him but know that he will have so much fun in his new room. We are getting some new little butterflies … Colin, Jake, and James. We can’t wait to meet them! Gabe, Layla, and Georgia are just the cutest. Gabe and Layla love the saucers. Georgia loves the floor mat; she loves grabbing at everything. They smile and laugh all the time. Bubble time is their favorite. We also want to thank all of our parents for being so kind and sweet. Be safe!

Happy New Year, families and friends! We can’t believe it is already 2018. Lucy, our oldest Hippo, will be moving on up to the Bee room this month. We will miss her so much! Grace and Nellie are now cruising and will be walking in no time. Ben and Reece are pulling up on all our stand-up toys. Nettie is now crawling around the room and loves exploring with her friends. Eleanor and Jenson both turned ONE, and love eating at the big table. We are so excited to welcome Cheska from the Elephant room! We hope everyone has a great start to the new year.

Happy New Year! It’s hard to believe that it is already 2018! We have a lot of art work and fun activities planned for the new year. We have such a good group of babies. Cheska is trying to crawl; she will be taking off any time. Josie has found her voice and is babbling all day! Elsie loves sitting on the mat and playing with all her friends. Nathan is such a good boy sitting up all by himself. Morgan loves to play in the jumper — such a big girl! Ella and Leo love playing on the mat together and rolling over! Hope everyone has a wonderful and safe New Year! Please remember to sign your babies in and out each day! If you ever have any questions, please feel free to call or email. Thank you!

This month, we will be focusing on the colors brown, red, yellow, and blue. We will focus on the shapes square, circle, triangle, and oval. We will learn about animals as we focus on the theme Brown Bear, Brown Bear. We have been working on using our words, gentle touches, using spoons, helping clean the tables, and throwing away our own paper towels. In circle time, we are working on colors, shape recognition, body parts, and animal sounds. Winter is here so please dress your child in weather-appropriate clothes and outdoor gear. We would like to thank you for all the wonderful gifts we received this holiday! Reminder, as we move into 2018, we will be going digital sign in and daily sheets. Please remember to sign in and out daily. Have a happy and safe New Year!
