Preschool 3s

Preschool 3s are going to be fluttering around this month when we talk about the life cycle of a butterfly and watching live caterpillars turn into butterflies. We will be doing activities that relate to The Very Hungry Caterpillar, talk about how bees pollinate flowers, and ladybugs. This month we will be talking about the letters V, W, X, Y, and Z.

Literacy

The children will be introduced to the letters V, W, X, Y, and Z. We will read “Where the Wild Things Are” and “Animal Strike in the Zoo”. We will read the poems “Victor the Vulture”, “Foxy Roxy”, and “Yippie Yak.” We will also play the Zany Name Game and put the alphabet together with a large caterpillar.

Math

We will be counting whales and worms for the letter W, sequencing food the Hungry Caterpillar ate, matching butterfly number cards, and Five Little Ladybugs rhyme.

Physical

During April we will be doing a Freeze Dance and playing Ladybug Ping Pong for Gross Motor. For Fine Motor we will be lacing webs and cutting zig zags.

Science

The children will be learning about the life cycle of a butterfly, feeling a watermelon sensory bag, looking at x-rays, and making letters in playdough with Legos. We will also be watching live caterpillars turn make cocoons and turn become butterflies.

• Parent Teacher Conferences will be on Wednesday April 4, 2018. Don’t forget to sign up!
• Our Spring Field Trip is on Wednesday, April 18, 2018. We will not have Preschool on Thursday, April 19, 2018, since Wednesday will count as a Preschool day.
• Wear your Cardinal gear on Thursday April 5, 2018, for their Home Opener.
