From the Pastor's Desk

Rev. Mike KrewsonIt’s exciting to have new people becoming integrated into our congregation! It feels good to expand and serve more people and partner with them in living into Christianity.

So, in honor of our 4 new members, let’s explore our vision statement in a new and different way:

A nationally known congregation in California has a statement very reminiscent of St. Philip’s Vision Statement. So look, below, at the two side by side and notice how the familiar words come into new focus and trigger new thoughts when seen from this new perspective. Perhaps that’s one great thing having new people to partner with is all about.

Nationally Known California Church:

To welcome the community with open arms. To train an army of people who are passionate about living out God’s purpose for their lives. To then give that army an outlet for sharing the love of Christ through outreach and missions.

St. Philip’s:

We are called to the body of Jesus Christ, with: Minds to study God’s word, Mouths to proclaim the Gospel, Eyes to see the needs of others, Arms to welcome all, Hearts big enough to share God’s love with all God’s children!

Church is all about following the example and pattern of Jesus. When we get to do that with people who also know what it’s like to be welcomed and to pass that on to others each time we gather, we receive the benefit of a joyful, faithful Christian Congregation.

It’s my honor to be on this journey with you!
