September 2019 Preschool Press
Mrs. Julie’s Preschool 3s
Summer is over and it’s time to start Preschool! We have lots of fun and exciting activities planned for this year. We will be getting to know all of our friends during the first week. The rest of the month will be filled with learning about Alligators, Bears, and Cats as we introduce the letters A, B, and C with Zoophonics. We will also be reviewing shapes and colors, and name recognition.
Literacy
We will start the month with name recognition and talk about what our name starts with before we start tracing our names. We will be using Zoophonics this year to learn our alphabet. The children will begin with the letters A, B, and C by saying their sound and thinking of words that start with these letters.
Math
The children will be going on a shape hunt, doing an alligator number line (1-10), counting apples, and doing apple patterns with pompoms. We will also be matching colors with bears, sorting cows and clowns, and number recognition.
Physical
For Fine Motor, the children will be lacing alphabet beads, using water pipettes to transfer water, trace names and alligators, and playing with playdough. They will be doing a balloon bop, cat freeze dance, and a bear balance relay for Gross Motor.
Science
The children will be mixing colors with water, playing with alligators in a swamp, painting with bubble wrap, and experimenting with Cloud Dough. We will also be going on a color hunt around the building to find out favorite colors.
