What are We Learning

Literacy

We will learn about the letters O, P, and Q with Zoophonics. We will meet Olive the Octopus, Pee Wee the Penguin, and Queeny the Quail. We will continue to review all the letters we have learned this year as well.

Math

The children will count beads for octopus legs, make patterns with hearts, graph colored hearts, trace shapes, and count 10 apples up on top.

Physical

For For fine motor, the children will lace and stack hearts, and use tweezers to match pompoms on the letter P. For gross motor, we will play Musical Hearts, and do Quick Movements.

Science

We will start the month off with Dental Health. Dr. Lang will be coming to visit to talk with the children about how to take care of our teeth. We will count our teeth, talk about what foods are good and what foods are bad for our teeth, and we will practice brushing teeth with a model mouth.

Social/Emotional

We will talk about what a President does, graph if we like popcorn and put apples in order by number as a class.

Reminders

Please remember folders need to be brought to school EVERY Tuesday.

Lending Library books will be checked out on February 4th (returned on February 11th) and February 18th (returned on February 25th).

Valentine Party will be on February 11th. I will send out more information when the time gets closer.
