What are We Learning
Literacy
We will be finishing the alphabet by meeting with our friend Zeke the Zebra to learn about the letter Z. The children will also review all the letters this month as well. We will read “Animal Strike At The Zoo” and “There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed the ABCs.” We will also read stories about our moms.
Math
We will count zebras as we sort them by color, make numbers with play dough, and make patterns with beads on a bracelet.
Physical
For fine motor, the children will practice zipping zippers and buttoning buttons, lacing beads, and tracing letters with Q-Tips. For gross motor, we will exercise through the alphabet, play Musical Alphabet Game, push cars through a zig-zag car track, and hopefully spend a little extra time outside.
Science
The children will make Magic Letters using crayons and watercolor paint, figure out which letters are magnetic, and write letters in sand trays.
Social/Emotional
As a group, the children sing “If You Love Your Mom And You Know It” and “M-O-M-M-Y.” We will also play Letter Kaboom!
