What are We Learning

Literacy

We will learn about the letters Q, R, and S with Zoo Phonics. We will meet Queeny the Quail, Robbie the Rabbit, and Sammy the Snake. We will continue to review all the letters we have learned this year as well.

Math

The children will start the month making heart patterns and graphing conversation hearts. We will also count snakes and coins, and complete 10 frames with rainbows.

Physical

For fine motor, we will lace hearts, stack hearts, and practice writing in the sand. For gross motor, the children will practice flossing teeth (Lego blocks), playing musical hearts, and jumping on a rainbow.

Science

The children will sort hearts on the light table, look at quartz with magnifying glasses, and write names in rainbow rice. We will also explore snakes in the sensory bin.

Social/Emotional

We will learn about healthy dental tips, exchange Valentine’s, hop on a rabbit number line, and guess if items will sink or float.

• February 4 – Dr. O Shaughnessy Dental Presentation from 9:30 am to 10:00 am
• February 14 – Valentine’s Day Exchange (Bring your child’s Valentine’s box)
• February 14 – Valentine’s Day Parent’s Night Out

Reminders

Please remember folders need to be brought to school EVERY Tuesday and Thursday.

Lending Library Books will be checked out on January 28 (returned February 4) and February 18 (returned February 25).
