A Note from Preschool
We are so excited to start the new preschool year! We are going to try our best to make sure the kids have a fun and safe year.

What Are We Learning?
📚 Literacy
We will start the first week off with lots of name activities, including recognition. We will be learning the letters A, B, and C. The letter sounds will be introduced as well. We will also talk about words that start with these letters.
🔢 Math
The children will trace shapes with gems, put numbers in order on an alligator, bear patterns, and bear balancing. We will also sort cows and clowns by color.
🏃♀️ Physical Development
For fine motor, the children will be lacing alphabet beads, tracing their names, and using scissors to cut play dough. For gross motor, we will be going on a Color Hunt, tossing bean bags to apples, and playing a Cat Freeze Dance game.
🔬 Science
The children will explore in an Alligator Swamp, find bugs in “grass,” and build castles on the light table.
❤️ Social & Emotional
We will be playing a “Clap a Friend’s Name with Me” and “Alligator Claps” game. We will also be balancing bears while we have a relay.
📅 Important Dates
- September 7 – Center Closed (Labor Day)
- September 8 – First Day of Preschool
- September 19 – Fall Festival from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM
- September 16 – Lending Library starts
📌 Reminders
- We will be using your child’s folder to send their work and other information in. Please make sure your child brings it every Preschool day.
- Lending Library will be on Tuesdays. Please make sure your child brings their book back on the following Tuesday.
