September 2018 Preschool Press
Mrs. Julie’s Preschool 4s
Welcome Back to Preschool!
I am so excited to start preschool this school year! I have lots of new and fun things planned for the little ones.
Please remind your child to bring their Preschool folder to every Preschool class. Also … please keep all home toys at home as they can be a distraction in class.
What are We Learning
Literacy
We will be reviewing the letters A, B, C, and D with the letter sounds, and thinking up words that start with each letter. The children will be spelling their name and start to recognize their last name as well as writing their names.
Math
The children will be tracing shapes and numbers and working on patters, one-to-one correspondence, sorting and graphing, and counting apples and leaves.
Science
There will be rice in the sensory table with scoops, letters and numbers, bugs, and dinosaurs. We will be playing with playdough, drawing shapes in sand, talking about parts of an apple, and counting leaves on the light table.
Physical
The children will be practicing fine mother with Q-Tip painting, cutting with scissors, lacing beads, and using tweezers with cotton balls. For gross motor we will be tossing bean bags, walking like crabs, dancing on dots, and going on a nature walk.
