Preschool 3s

Can you believe Christmas is right around the corner? Well the Preschool 3’s class is ready for Santa and all the other fun things December brings. We will be talking about Santa and his reindeers, Candy Canes, gingerbread men, and the true meaning of Christmas. We will also introduce the letters J and K and reviewing all the letters we have learned so far this year.

Literacy

The children will be introduced to the letters J and K by saying their sound and thinking of words that start with these letters. We will continue to use Zoophonics to help learn the letter sounds. We will then review letters A to K before we go on our Christmas break.

Math

We will be counting Santas and sorting candy canes by color. We will also be recognizing numbers 1 to 10 on gingerbread men. The children will be matching bodies of Christmas characters to see what funny new characters they can make.

Physical

For gross motor, we will be doing a gingerbread hop and walking on a balance beam while saying the numbers we walk over. Our fine motor skills will consist of using tweezers to sort candy canes and tracing names.

Science

The children will be using some of their five senses this month. We will be tasting candy canes and smelling different spices that relate to Christmas. For our STEAM activity, we will be making Christmas trees with playdough and beads.
