Preschool 3s

Happy New Year! We hope that everyone had a great time relaxing with friends and families over our Christmas Break. I’m sure the children are ready to start learning again. We will be introducing the letters L, M, N, O, and P this month along with doing many crafts and activities related to winter.

Literacy

The children will be introduced to the letters L, M, N, O, and P by saying their sound and thinking of words that start with these letters. We will review previous letters from Zoophonics as we add our new letters for this month. We will also start to identify our last names.

Math

We will be putting animals in sequence order with the book “The Mitten”. We will be matching buttons to mitten by number, tracing numbers 1-10, and we will be putting penguins in number order by sticking them in “snow.”

Physical

We will be dancing on lines, doing opposite actions, and popping like popcorn for our letters this month. We will also be cutting, tracing and lacing noodles for fine motor.

Science

The children will be playing with Winter Playdough and will experiment with vinegar and baking soda for a Hot Chocolate Surprise. Our STEAM activities we will be building with “ice cubes” for penguins to walk on and decorating mittens.

Reminders

• Please make sure your child brings their folder every Preschool day.
• Lending Library books are due every Thursday. Your child can not check out another book until they bring the previous book back.
