Dear Parents,
Schedules for the Week of the Young Child will be coming home soon. This is a nationwide event that celebrates early childhood education. Although the children won’t perform in the worship service, St. Philip’s UCC invites you on April 15, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. The ECC board hosts Open House after each year so please join us. The special event for the week is a field trip to Walter Knoll Florist, and please enjoy our Parent Appreciation Breakfast on April 19, 2018. Eat with your child or grab something on the go. The calendars will be posted and emailed through KidsReports so your child can participate in each day’s event.
Summer camp registration forms are due April 30, 2018. The special events fee is applied to t-shirts, field trips, and materials. All orders are due by the end of April. Therefore, if your child’s fee is not paid by April 30th, he or she will not receive a t-shirt. Please feel free to share our camp information with any family or friends. This summer we are fortunate to be staffed with a few college graduates as well as our high school graduates.
Our fundraising totals were $3423 with only 24 participants; we have 142 families currently enrolled. We received a profit of $1369.20. Congratulations to our top three sellers: the Tobnick family, Hornungs, and Collins. All three families will receive tuition credits for April. Thank you to all of those who participated. The money was used toward the purchase of our new playground awnings.

Spring is finally here & our Butterflies are prettier than ever. Our sweet little Georgia will be moving on up to the Elephant room. She will have fun with her old friends and new friends, we will miss her. We want to welcome Patrick & Ivy, can’t wait to meet them. Callum is our newest little guy & doing wonderful. Jake loves the jumper & is full of giggles. James, Izzy & Colin love the play mat & enjoy playing together. Christian is always full of smiles & is such a good baby. We have so much fun with all of our little butterflies & love watching them learn & grow each day. Have a great month!

Happy April! We can’t believe it is already April. We have had lots of big changes in our class recently… Nettie & Ben both transitioned and became Bees. We also gained Elsie & Oliver, who are doing great as Hippos. Grace & Reece turned one! Morgan & Nathan have started crawling & are pulling up on everything. Josie loves to sing & clap during music time. Cheska is full of smiles & is always on the move.

Happy April! Warmer weather is on the way, can’t wait to take walks! We had to say goodbye to Elsie & Oliver, as they stomped over to the Hippo room. We have a few new friends to welcome… Mason & Nora, so excited to show them all of our fun stuff. Luke our youngest is so cute, starting to smile! Layla is now sitting up all by herself. Ella waves goodbye to everyone, she is also starting to show some signs of crawling. Leo is going to take off crawling any day now. Gloria & Gabe have so much fun sitting up on the mat playing with all the toys. Remember to sign your child in & out daily. Please feel free to contact us with any question or concerns.

This month we will be including Science into our curriculum. We will be working on recognizing the colors Blue, Yellow, Purple, Brown & White. We will practice the shapes Heart, Rectangle, Star, Square, & Circle. We will be learning about Community helpers, Zoo, Hungry Caterpillar, Earth Day, Garden, & Pets. Oscar & Quinn have buzzed on over to the Giraffe room. We would like to welcome Nettie & Ben to our hive. Mrs. Gabi has joined our hive & is the new lead teacher. April Showers bring May flowers! Springtime is here & we are so excited for the nice weather! Please make sure you are still bringing a jacket for your child for cold morning or chilly afternoons. Happy Birthday to Lincoln, Rosie, Otto, Ben & Oscar. This month we are welcoming Oscar, Quinn & Violet. We are excited for new friends. However, new friends mean some of our other friends will have to leave, we are saying goodbye to Asa & Cash as they hop on up to the Frog room. This month we will be focusing on letters I-L & numbers 7-10. We will also be learning about the weather & springtime along with getting to be superheroes & make tasty treats!

This month we will be sending our friends Audrey & Skylar swimming up to the fish room, we know they will do great. We will also be welcoming 2 new friends Asa & Cash from the Giraffes. Our weekly themes in April are Be Healthy (I, 7, White, Rectangle), Jungle(J, 8, Red, Heart), Sports(K,9, Black, Crescent Moon), & Circus(L, 10, Orange, Star) As always, if you have any questions feel free to email or call us any time. Spring has sprung! We will be working on our letters & writing our names this month. We will also be practicing our scissor skills. V, W, X, Y & Z are the letters of the month. Our themes for April are Pond, Life, On the Farm, Weather, Outer Space & Circus. We also have a birthday this month, grant will be 4! Wishing everyone warm, sunny spring days!

Happy Spring! We have an exciting month ahead of us as we welcome in the warmer weather & wrap up our alphabet this month! We will be finishing this month with letters V, W, X, Y, & Z. We would like to Thank you for participating in the Sweet & Salty Fundraiser, we are exciting about the new awnings for the playground! This month we will be taking a field trip to Walter Knoll Florist on April 18 to plant flowers, a great way to kick off spring! We also want to invite the parents to an appreciation breakfast on April 19 at 8:00 a.m., we hope to see you there… This month we would like to say Happy Birthday to Mrs. Kaitlin & Alexander, we hope you both have wonderful days!
