Dear Parents,
Thank you for donating to our Mitten Mania. This year’s donation went to Neighborhood Houses. They are the biggest provider for Before/After school care in St. Louis city so any effort is appreciated.
St. Philip’s ECC will be hosting a Parents’ Night Out for Valentine’s Day again this year. We will feed your children dinner and provide Valentine’s activities too. Please feel free to leave your child at the center and enjoy an evening out. It is $25 per child and includes dinner, care, activities, and a movie. In addition, there are raffle tickets available for “Date Night” which includes a gift certificate to Bartolino’s.
KidsReports.com will be activated for our February enrollment which begins February 5, 2018. For those of you who are not familiar with this, it will allow our center to be completely digital. Our classroom management (sign-in/outs, daily and weekly reports, accident reports, emails, etc) will all be through KidsReports.com. It was recently acquired by our computer software company, Procare, making it even easier and much more sufficient. We hope you are excited as we are.

Valentine’s Grams will be available in the office starting January 29, 2018, to February 13, 2018, for $1 each. We will deliver them to your child’s classroom on Wednesday, February 14, 2018. If your child does not attend daycare on Wednesdays, we will deliver them to your child on Thursday.

Happy Valentine’s Day to all our parents. Gabe & Gloria will be flying down to the Haven in the beginning of February. They will have fun with all their new friends, we will miss them so much. Nora is so cute, she loves to scoot backwards on the mat. Mason, Layla & Georgia are so much fun to watch, they can really get the exasausers moving! Jake, James, & Colin are new to our room, they are doing great and enjoying the mat and bouncers. We are so happy with our new CD player and the kids love to hear the nursery rhymes and lullabies.Please remember to sign your children in & out daily! Everyone stay well!!!

Hi Hippo families!We are already in February and Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. There are 2 big birthdays this month… Ben and Nettie will be turning 1! They are getting so big. We are sad to say goodbye to Eleanor, Jenson & Nellie as they are moving on up to the Bird room. As we are saying goodbye to our old friends we are welcoming new friends, Nathan & Josie! Reese & Grace started eating snack and they love it!! Our youngest Cheska started to crawl. All of the Hippo teachers are so excited to see the new milestones!

Happy Valentine’s day families! We are excited to do our art this month. Nathan & Josie are stomping over to the Hippo, we are sad to see them leave but they will get to join some of their old friends. We are welcoming new friends from the Butterfly room Gloria & Gabe we are so excited to meet them. Leo and Ella have grown so much, they can both sit up all by themselves, and Morgan is right behind them, she has been sitting up with assistance. They look so cute sitting on the mat together. Elsie has started crawling all over the room, good job big girl! Oliver is crawling and exploring our room. Love is in the air! The Bees are super excited about Valentine’s Day coming up… We will be doing some fun experiments & some cute art projects. As always, stop by & see the art projects on display outside our room. We will be having a Valentine’s Day party on Wednesday February 14, 2018. If you would like to send valentines for your child’s friends, we have 9 kids in our class. Come comfy in your PJ’s that day! Valentine grams are still on sale for a $1.00 in the office. Parents night out on February 14, 2018, from 6-10. Please make sure your child has a weather-appropriate extra change of clothes. And for outside: coat, hat, & mittens. This month we will continue to read Brown Bear Brown Bear and Eric Carl’s Head to Toe book as we practice our colors & shapes. We will focus on the colors Purple, White, Black, & Orange & on the shapes Heart, Rectangle, Star, & Square. We will be practicing pointing to, naming & saying the animal sounds for Cat, Dog, Sheep & Fish. On February 8th, Mrs. Crystal will be celebrating her birthday. Otto, Ben, & Rosie will be flying over to the Giraffe room, & we will be welcoming Jenson, Eleanor & Nellie as they join our nest. Please let us know if you have any question or concerns during your child’s transition to the Bird room. We will have a Valentines party on February 14th. Please see the party signup sheet. We will also exchange Valentine cards with our friends during circle time. Reminders: please remember to sign your child in & out every day. Please bring in a jacket, hat & mittens for your child as we do go outside, weather permitting.

We have a lot happening in the Giraffe Room this month! We will be using our new app for sign in and daily sheets, so please make sure you are checking your emails for any information about the app. We would like to wish Avett a Happy Birthday!! We will be welcoming Rosie, Ben & Otto to the Giraffe Room. We are excited to have them in our room. We will also have to say goodbye to Simone & Ben as they hop on up to the Frog Room. We will miss them but know they will enjoy their new room. This month we will be learning about fruits & vegetables along with having fun with Dr. Seuss We will be working on letters A-D & numbers 9-2. Hello Frog Parents! This month we would like to wish our friends Josie K. and Emma a very Happy Birthday! We are excited to be welcoming two new friends from the Giraffe room, Ben & Simone! Our friends Josie K. and Ellery will also be swimming up to the Fish room in February, we will miss them so much! Our weekly themes this month include Food (A, 9, Orange, Circle), Valentine’s (B, 10, Yellow, Heart), Chicka Chicka Boom Boom (C, 1, Green, Crescent Moon), & Pond (D, 2, Blue, Star). As soon as the season grows colder, our hearts grow warmer. We hope everyone is having a pleasant winter & staying warm & toasty! We’d like to welcome Josie K & Ellery to the Fish Room! They have transitioned from the Frog Room and we’re ecstatic to get to know our new friends. Valentine’s Day, Love & Friendship, Nursery Rhymes, & Dr. Seuss are our themes for the month of February. We will be practicing sorting object by size, tracing, & writing our letters. Our letters this month are Q, R, & S. Happy Valentine’s Day to our very loving children & parents! You all are incredible and we’re so thankful for each & every one of you!
