It’s turkey time!!! The Preschool 3s class is ready to learn about turkeys and Pilgrims and Indians. We will be talking about Thanksgiving and what we are thankful for. We will also introduce the letters G, H, and I.

Literacy

The children will be introduced to the letters G, H, and I by saying their sound and thinking of words that start with these letters. We will focus on spelling and writing our names. We will read the books “Goodnight Gorilla,” “Hiccupotamus,” “The Littlest Pilgrim,” and “Inch By Inch.” children will also read books in an Indian teepee.

Math

We will continue one-to-one correspondence by counting goldfish to 10. The children will make a heart shape on the light table with little hearts, count insects and igloo blocks, and match numbers on a Christmas tree.

Physical

This month will be filled with gross motor activities. We will be playing “Red Light, Green Light,” doing the Turkey Pokey, hop on numbers, and play Pilgrim, Pilgrim Where’s My Hat?

Science

The children will explore with gems on the light table, make play dough feathers for our turkey play dough mats, match animals to their homes, and talk about how the Indians helped the Pilgrims.

Pilgrim Indian Day will be on Friday, November 16, 2018. Please look for the sign-up sheet to be a volunteer.

• Center closed on Thursday and Friday, November 22 & 23 in observance of Thanksgiving
