For many years, we have participated in the annual Festival of Sharing, a yearly program in which many Christian denominations work together in response to world hunger, poverty, and injustice. The list of participating denominations includes: UCC, Catholics, Lutherans, Methodists, Mormons, Unitarians, Presbyterians, and others.
There are many ways to participate, including contributions of food, paper products, baby supplies, backpacks, hygiene kits, and school supplies. Most recently, St. Philip’s has collected toothbrushes, toothpaste, and dental floss for Student Dental Packs. In addition to the contributions of food and other items, there is an option for cash donations which can be allocated to a specific project or can be given with the instructions that funds be used where needed most.
Outreach Ministry has decided that we would like to continue the tradition of participation in Festival of Sharing. However, given COVID, and the smaller number of members attending services in person, we feel that cash contributions would be the best way to participate. Checks can be sent to Kathy Shelton at 10754 Gail Court, St. Louis MO, 63123, with Festival of Sharing written on the Memo Line in the left lower corner of the check.
Please consider contributing to this very worthy cause. Checks should be sent in the month of September.
