From the Pastor's Desk

Greetings, St. John UCC and St. Philip’s UCC!

‘Tis the season for giving thanks! And you better believe that right now I am beyond thankful for more than I could even begin to name! Real close to the top of my list of blessings this year is… YOU! Thank you, St. John UCC and St. Philip’s UCC, for being you, for being the Body of Christ, for doing good ministry, and for being incredibly awesome congregations who continue to boldly leap forward with faith! Thank you for the gift of officially getting to continue this journey of ministry we’re on together—indefinitely!

So, here are just a few “thank you” shoutouts:

Thanks to those who serve as liturgists, ushers, and tech operators on Sunday mornings—and thanks to those who go above and beyond the job description when needed!

Thanks to those who serve on committees and on our Councils, and thanks to those who volunteer to help when needed!

Thanks to those who share their gifts of music with the congregation, and thanks to those who make a joyful noise!

Thanks to those who teach, and thanks to those who learn!

Thanks to those who help the children in our midst know God loves them, and thanks to the children who remind us to enter God’s kingdom like children!

Thanks to those who remind the Church of our story so far, and thanks to those who envision what our story might look like in the future!

Thanks to those who pray—for one another, for our community, for our world!

Thanks to those who occupy the pews—even the “pews” online! ☺

Thanks to those who study scripture and experience God outside of the sanctuary!

Thanks to those who bring joy, laughter, and hope wherever they go!

Thanks to those who give generously of their time, talents, and treasure!

Thanks to those who take care of our buildings and grounds!

Thanks to those who create meals and make the coffee, and thanks to those who eat and fellowship!

Thanks to those who care about others, who work for God’s Kingdom, who are God’s hands and feet in the world!

Thanks to those who are God’s beloved children (that’s all of us!)- thanks for just being YOU!

Thank you, St. Philip’s UCC and St. John UCC, for all of this, and so much more!

May you be reminded of such an abundance of blessings in your life, that your list of “thank yous” never ends.

Thanking God for YOU, for blessing upon blessing, for more than we can ask or imagine!

With thanks and joy,
Pastor Laura
