Did you know that each Habitat house costs approximately $65,000 to build? Even though many materials and in-kind services are donated, some of the expenses just need cold, hard cash. And where does that money come from? Individual congregations donate (St. Philip’s has given $1,000 each year for many years) and FUNDRAISERS!

The UCC churches of St. Louis are hoping to have an online fundraiser auction this fall to benefit Habitat. Each church is being asked to have a volunteer from their congregation serve as a point person to:

• encourage auction item donations of goods or services from their congregation and coordinate getting those donations to one of the committee chairpersons
• publicize the auction within their congregation to increase bidding participation
