What are We Learning
Literacy
We will continue with name recognition and tracing. We will meet DeeDee the Deer, Ellie the Elephant, Francie the Fish, and Gordo the Gorilla with Zoophonics. We will sing “Five Little Ducks” with visuals on the flannel board and read “The Very Busy Spider.”
Math
The children will be counting ducks and dinosaurs, matching fish to the correct number card, and counting spiders while stacking them. We will also be making patterns with Halloween candy and counting Halloween objects.
Physical
For fine motor, the children will paint at the easel, paint with feathers, and practice with scissors. For gross motor, we will dance on dots, do an elephant stomp, and see our shadows when we do flashlight dancing. We will also do the Spooky Pokey.
Science
The children will make deer tracks in play dough and play with frogs in the “frog pond.” We will also have spider webs and spiders on the light table and ghost slime for Halloween.
Social/Emotional
We will be reading “A Dog’s Tale” to talk about words that start with D and we will graph one of our weekly questions, “Do You Have a Pet Fish?”
